On 13th March 2021,Saturday, IIA Cochin Centre is associating with IMA and participating in Green Cochin Missions program towards ‘CLEAN KOCHI DRIVE’ for GCM (Green Cochin Mission) in Karanakkodam in Kochi at 7:30am. The basic motive is to clean the Kochi city, since the window towards the motive is small, we start with smaller areas.We have planned to clean
up division no.44 in Karanakkodam tagging along with the resident’s association.
Programs scheduled for the day: An inauguration ceremony by Retd. Justice Rahim and Dr. Ravi at MCF (Material Collection Facility) positioned at the end of Church Road.
Procedure of the day:
Step 1: People of the residence will start off the drive session by providing from their side, all kinds of waste to the nearest designated location.
Step 2: Volunteers are to be assigned in all the allocated locations, as well as the refreshment team would provide as needed for the people. Waste collection space is to be limited and the rest of the coordination would be handled by Ashraf (Standing Head of Health). Program ends by afternoon.

Future ideas:
MCF (Material Collection Facility) needs a design for the proper function, for which support from IIA would be needed. Providing waste bins in proper and designated locations, uniform branding for the workers involved. A design for the waste collection vehicle . Furthermore, converting the vacant areas of residences into public areas, for instance, tot lots, vegetable farming, hydroponic farm etc.
