CLEAN KOCHI DRIVE

On 13th March 2021, Saturday, IIA Cochin Centre is associating with IMA and participating in Green Cochin Missions program towards ‘CLEAN KOCHI DRIVE’ for GCM (Green Cochin Mission) in Karanakkodam in Kochi at 7:30am. The basic motive is to clean the Kochi city, since the window towards the motive is small, we start with smaller areas. We have planned to clean Division No.44 in Karanakkodam along with the Resident’s association.

Programs scheduled for the day: An inauguration ceremony by Retd. Justice Abdul Rahim and Dr. Ravi at MCF (Material Collection Facility) positioned at the end of Church Road.

Procedure of the day:

Step 1: Residents of the concerned area will start off the drive session by delivering the different types of waste to the nearest designated location.

Step 2: Volunteers are to be assigned in all the allocated locations; refreshments would provided as needed.

Waste collection space is to be limited and the rest of the coordination would be handled by Ashraf (Standing Head of Health). Program will end by afternoon.

o Refreshment and amenities of volunteers

Future ideas:

MCF (Material Collection Facility) needs a design for the proper function, for which support from IIA would be needed. Providing waste bins in proper and designated locations, Uniform for the workers involved. A design for the waste collection vehicle, etc. to be done by IIA CC. Furthermore, IIA should suggest how the vacant areas belonging to the Resident’s association can be converted into Public areas, for instance, Tot lots, vegetable farming, hydroponic farm etc.
